Payment Collection Tools
Remote Deposit
  • Desktop Scanner: Deposit checks anywhere, anytime, with The First Remote Deposit Capture. Deposit checks easily and conveniently from your office. Checks can be scanned using a compatible check scanner. Trips to the bank to deposit checks may now be a thing of the past. Discover the ease and convenience of banking remotely with The First Remote Deposit Capture.
  • Business Mobile Deposit: Deposit checks conveniently from your mobile device through The First’s Mobile Banking App.
Automated Clearing House (ACH)
  • Collect funds electronically using ACH origination services from The First. Funds can be debited from bank accounts at any financial institution in the Country. Simply obtain an authorization from the account owner, and you can begin collecting funds electronically using The First’s Online Banking platform. Collecting funds electronically is most commonly used to collect funds from consumer accounts for monthly bills or dues. It is also used by businesses to concentrate funds from multiple bank accounts owned by the business, versus moving funds via check. Collecting funds via ACH is an efficient and cost-effective way to do business.
RemitPlus Lockbox
  • Lockbox is an efficient and cost-effective method of collecting check payments. Businesses who collect check payments through the mail may be a viable candidate for utilizing Lockbox. Businesses will direct payments to be mailed to a PO Box established by the Bank on behalf of the client. On a daily basis, a representative from the bank will pick up checks that are mailed to the PO Box. The checks are then taken to the Bank’s Lockbox processing facility. The mail is opened, all contents are scanned, and the checks are deposited. Once the daily processing is complete, the images and deposit information is made available to the client through the RemitWeb online portal. Additionally, clients can request the Bank to capture data from remittance coupons. The captured data can then be put into a file format that allows payments to be automatically posted in the client’s accounting system.
Cash Processing Services
  • Managing, processing, and protecting cash can be a challenge for cash-intensive businesses. The First offers cash handling solutions to meet the demands of businesses.
  • Vault Direct: In partnership with the Bank’s armored courier, we offer clients the ability to send cash deposits directly to the Bank’s vault. Additionally, clients can order change orders directly from the Vault and have those orders delivered to your place of business.
  •  Remote Electronic Safe: In partnership with the Bank’s armored courier, we offer remote safes. Remote safes allow businesses to securely and safely deposit funds at their place of business while receiving provisional credit for the daily deposit.

Wire Transfer Service
  • Voice Wire Initiation: Wire transfer requests can be called in directly to The First’s Wire Department. Individuals authorized on behalf of the company will be issued a Wire PIN, which is used in the verification process. Additionally, wire templates can be created for recurring wires and kept on file with the Wire Department. As additional security, businesses can require a dual approval process before wire transfers are released from the Bank.
  • Online Wire Initiation: Initiate outgoing Domestic wires securely and conveniently through The First’s NetTeller online banking service. If you send one or more wires per month, Online Wire Initiation may be the most cost-effective method for sending Domestic Wires. Wires can be created for one-time use, or you can store recurring wire templates for future use and convenience. 
Pre-Paid Cards
  • Payroll Cards: Payroll Cards were designed to assist employees who do not have a bank account for direct deposit or prefer to receive their pay on a payroll card. Payroll Cards will help your company achieve 100% participation with direct deposit and eliminate check writing for payroll. With Payroll Cards, employees can avoid costly check cashing fees and gain greater flexibility and convenience for accessing their pay.

  • Check fraud continues to be the number one target of fraudsters. Positive Pay gives businesses the tools to detect check fraud early and the ability to prevent potential losses. In addition to Positive Pay, The First offers the products and services businesses need in order to eliminate or greatly reduce check writing. Eliminating check writing is one of the best ways to prevent check fraud.


ACH--Block, Filter, Notify
  • ACH payment fraud continues to be a growing method for criminals to steal money. Businesses have a very short window of opportunity to return unauthorized ACH debit transactions to ensure they can recover their money. Businesses have only 2 days to return an unauthorized ACH debit. Therefore, it is imperative that businesses have the tools they need to quickly identify unauthorized ACH debits or have parameters set that will automatically block unauthorized activity.
  • ACH Block: Set your account to block all ACH debit and/or credit transactions
  • ACH Filter: Provide a list of companies authorized to ACH debit your account. The authorized ACH debits will be allowed while any ACH debits outside of your approved list will be returned as unauthorized.
  • ACH Notify: Receive e-mail notifications each time an ACH debit or credit is presented to your account. This allows you to make timely decisions to return an ACH if it is unauthorized. Additionally, if an ACH transaction contains Addenda information, this information can be translated and delivered via e-mail.
