Lost or Stolen Debit Card

Immediately call 1-866-546-8273 (available 24 hours daily) to report your card lost or stolen. Please make sure to tell them your card is with The First, A National Banking Association out of Hattiesburg, MS. Then notify The First during business hours at 1-855-257-2265.

smsGuardian

smsGuardian allows you to receive free text message alerts for certain debit card transactions processed on your account. A text alert will be sent at the exact time that your card is ran for any transaction that meets the criteria listed below:
  • International Transactions
  • Fuel Transactions
  • Authorizations Greater than $100
  • 5 or More Authorizations in 24 Hours
  • Card not present
  • Out of State Transactions
  • Declined Authorizations
  • Account Funding Transactions

One minute later you will receive a text alert from 32874. 

The text alert has options for you to respond “yes” if the transaction is valid or “no” if the transaction is fraud.




PHONE CALL 


IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND
TO THE TEXT ALERT:


Five minutes later you will receive an automated phone call. 

This will be asking you to confirm or deny fraud. If fraud is confirmed you will be connected to a fraud analyst.




AUTHORIZATION RESTRICTION 


TRANSACTION DECLINED:


If the transaction is fraud, follow the screen prompts. 

If the transaction is valid, contact The First at 866-362-6477.
